Our Women in Tech team is passionate about increasing gender diversity and inclusion within technical fields. We do that by organising learning opportunities and events to actively diversify the digital industry and challenge any misconceptions women have that stop them pursuing a career in technology.

This month, in celebration of International Women’s Day, we’re hosting a Break the Bias in Tech event. It’s happening on Zoom on 23 March, 6pm-7:30pm (GMT).

Why is it important to break the bias?

Workplace bias is, unfortunately, still common. A recent survey by the WeAreTech group found 52 per cent of women feel their gender has limited their career in technology, while 60 per cent said they’ve experienced microaggressions in the workplace.

To continue to build an inclusive and fair society, breaking the bias must be a priority. Not only is it the right thing to do, but it also makes business sense. A study by Catalyst, a non-profit community working globally to help build workplaces that work for women, found organisations with more female management enjoy 35 per cent higher return on equity than firms that lack gender diversity.

To find out more about bias and how to fight it, join some of the events being held for International Women’s Day, like live panels and event STEM events. Here at PA Women in Tech, we’re excited to be hosting our own Break the Bias in Tech event on Wednesday 23 March.
