Christine Berry appointed as an independent Trustee of The PA Foundation

06 May 2022

The PA Foundation, the independent charity partner of PA Consulting (PA), the consultancy that’s bringing ingenuity to life, announces Christine Berry will join its Board of Trustees.

The PA Foundation, announced in March 2022, provides grants to charities and non-profit organisations to support PA Consulting’s volunteering efforts. The PA Foundation amplifies the impact of the skills and experience volunteered by PA people to make a real difference. Its mission is to develop and inspire people, particularly those facing disadvantage, to be the innovators and leaders of tomorrow – applying their ingenuity to solve the world's biggest challenges.

The PA Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees comprised of independent Trustees and PA employees, of which Anita Chandraker is Chair.

Christine joins the Board of The PA Foundation following a successful career as a solicitor, where she spent ten years as a Managing Partner at international law firm Taylor Vinters LLP. During her legal career, she specialised in advising charities, particularly those working at the forefront of scientific and medical research and in education. She has a strong belief in the ability of charities to collaborate with each other and with commercial partners to maximise benefit to society.

Christine is a former trustee of Addenbrooke’s NHS Charitable Trust and has previously served on the regional council of the CBI. In 2007, Christine co-founded an annual literary prize of £10,000 to support new writers. The prize is now part of the Early Careers Programme at the National Centre For Writing. Christine is also currently a Trustee of the Association for Cultural Exchange which operates an arts and study centre just outside Cambridge.

Other Trustees of The PA Foundation include Fintech Advisory Board member and former PA Partner Martin Tillish, PA’s Chief Marketing Officer Jo Scarlett, Group Company Secretary Kully Janjuah, and Jason Robson, a Partner in PA’s Defence, Security and Public Services practice.

Christine Berry said: “It’s an honour to be appointed The PA Foundation’s latest Trustee. Developing and inspiring the innovators and leaders of tomorrow is a mission that’s close to my heart, having spent much of my career advising and supporting charitable organisations to maximise their impact. I have long admired the amazing work PA Consulting does to bring ingenuity to life for its clients and communities. I look forward to advancing the important work of The PA Foundation to support disadvantaged communities across the world.”

Anita Chandraker, Chair of The PA Foundation, added: “I’m delighted that Christine has joined our Board of Trustees. Her varied career in the legal sector and extensive experience supporting and advising charities to deliver societal benefit make her a great addition to our Board. Her passion for furthering the career prospects of generations to come makes her uniquely placed to support The PA Foundation’s work addressing the underlying barriers holding people from disadvantaged backgrounds back.”

The PA Foundation benefits from PA’s ongoing financial support and partnership opportunities, combining grant-based donations to charities and non-profit organisations with the skills and experience of PA employees, amplifying social impact for the public good.

PA has committed over £10 million to The PA Foundation, to be dispersed across projects run by its global communities over the next five years.
