Our experts in innovation, growth strategy, organisational agility and transport worked with Network Rail R&D to launch the Accelerated Innovation Programme. The Programme provides a practical process for turning ideas into workable solutions, capable of testing novel ideas and capturing tangible benefits, in as little as 12 weeks.

Ending the sale of petrol and diesel cars by 2030 is key to the UK government’s plans to address the climate emergency. Yet motorists’ concerns about being able to charge electric vehicles (EVs) easily is a barrier to this policy. To answer those concerns and encourage more people to switch to EVs, we collaborated with the Royal College of Art to design and develop the blueprint for an emblematic chargepoint.

In May, driven by COVID-19 constraints and a need for socially distanced travel options, the Department for Transport (DfT) announced accelerated rental e-scooter trials across the UK, with West Midlands leading the way. Drawing on insight from other countries, we supported Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) to design the UK’s largest e-scooter trial, providing greener, more sustainable travel options.

Virgin Hyperloop One is reinventing transport with speeds two to three times faster than high-speed rail. We’re helping Virgin Hyperloop One make the new system a reality. Our systems engineering and enterprise architecture experts have been working on the plans for the complex software and traffic control systems that will be needed.
