In a complex technology programme, the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) is introducing a new electronic monitoring system with GPS tracking to improve offender management. After a series of set-backs and disputes ground the programme to a halt, the MoJ called PA to help get it back on track.

The Crown Prosecution Service in England and Wales prosecutes almost half a million cases every year, working closely with the courts, police, defence teams and probation. We redesigned the way the CPS could manage cases in the future to support a major investment in digital capability and enable the Criminal Justice System to operate more smoothly for everyone.

UK justice is the envy of the rest of the world. But the service the public and professionals experience in bringing it about can be slow and frustrating. Processes are often unwieldy and staff hamstrung by systems and procedures. Court buildings are often out-dated and IT has fallen behind the revolution that’s taken place in wider society.

With over 50,000 vulnerable people shielding at home during the COVID-19 pandemic, Hampshire County Council urgently needed to understand their support needs. In just seven days, we developed and launched a Wellbeing Automated Call Service (WACS), dramatically enhancing the council’s capacity to do this.

Working through our Argenti partnership, our innovative approach to technology-enabled care, we delivered an end-to-end care technology service on behalf of Essex County for three years. Over this period, we increased referrals by 150 per cent, delivered financial benefits worth more than £6.5 million and garnered 99 per cent positive feedback from service users.

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is building seven Astute-class, nuclear-powered submarines to maintain the UK’s naval defences. Our support in negotiating the final deal enabled the MOD to secure savings of £110 million on the £1.4 billion contract.

We’ve been working with RE:FIT London, the programme set up by the Mayor of London, to help reduce carbon emissions in the UK capital. Working in close collaboration with RE:FIT, we’ve given organisations the support needed to develop their business case for investment in energy efficiency and design the financing package to make this possible.

Argenti, our innovative approach to technology-enabled care, is still equipping vulnerable people with technology to help them live independently at home, despite the COVID-19 outbreak.

Working together with Hampshire County Council, we uncovered new opportunities to use technology to improve outcomes for people, including increasing independence and control, and immediate access to help in an emergency. Our innovative approach also delivers significant and sustainable savings for the Council.

We enabled the UK MOD to work more effectively with industry partners – saving £350 million in just two years.
