Deliver complex programmes

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is building seven Astute-class, nuclear-powered submarines to maintain the UK’s naval defences. Our support in negotiating the final deal enabled the MOD to secure savings of £110 million on the £1.4 billion contract.

We’ve been working with RE:FIT London, the programme set up by the Mayor of London, to help reduce carbon emissions in the UK capital. Working in close collaboration with RE:FIT, we’ve given organisations the support needed to develop their business case for investment in energy efficiency and design the financing package to make this possible.

We worked with BT’s human resources (HR) business partners to identify where to place strategic bets in building new skills and capabilities. We provided thought leadership, workshop design and upskilling of the HR organisation so that the team can now design and hold ‘Future Skills’ workshops on their own.

Kames has empowered and motivated people with the new agile capabilities and skills needed to meet the challenge of change in a world that never stands still.

We enabled the UK MOD to work more effectively with industry partners – saving £350 million in just two years.

The Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) was on a mission to enhance customer experiences by insourcing its maritime grants service. They set us the challenge of helping them to be ready to operate the existing service in-house within just five months.

Defra’s Tree Planting Programme aims to create and expand woodlands across England at a rate of at least 7,500 hectares a year up to 2025. We helped Defra monitor and evaluate the impact of this place to ensure Defra were planting the right trees in the right place at the scale required to make a positive environmental impact.

Using expert modelling, ProRail was able to unravel complex discussions and calculations around cost, disruption and resources. The work completed underpins new principles to guide maintenance planning and achieve fairer distribution of traffic disruptions across the entire Dutch rail network, value for money, and better use of the available labour force.
