Offshore wind expert Alon Carmel joins PA Consulting as a Partner

Alon Carmel has joined PA Consulting (PA), the consultancy that’s bringing ingenuity to life, as a partner in PA’s Energy and Utilities team, and will be part of the Climate Response unit. Alon will lead PA’s offshore wind offering specifically around strategy, auctions, transactions due diligence and expert witness work. 

Alon has over 15 years’ experience advising global energy companies, investors and governments on offshore wind, as well as other renewable energy and enabling technologies. He joins PA from FTI Consulting where he led the global offshore wind team, supporting clients in Korea, Japan, Poland, France, the UK, the Netherlands and the US. 

Prior to FTI Consulting, Alon worked at NERA Economics, and also spent eight years working for the UK Government where he led policy teams in decarbonising transport, global carbon markets and carbon pricing policies, international UN climate negotiations and electricity market design. He led several teams in the Energy Market Reform programme including the team that designed the Contracts for Difference (CfD) scheme for renewable energy and nuclear.
