Cyber security experts overlooked for board positions

PA Consulting’s Cate Pye, a cybersecurity expert, comments on the importance of having cybersecurity expertise on boards in an article in FT Agenda by Jessica Tasman-Jones.

Sharing her thoughts on the benefits of both appointing a cyber security expert to a board and drawing upon external expertise Cate said: “Companies’ cyber security teams should have enough knowledge to contribute to business strategy. But external expertise, either a consultant or non-executive director, can bring experience from elsewhere and offer a sense check.”
