National resilience - a new approach

PA Consulting’s Caroline Field, a national resilience expert, discusses the UK’s new National Resilience Strategy, which is due for publication at the end of March, and the need for a new approach that fosters a collective, shared responsibility, in CIR Magazine.

She explains that one of the key principles will be investing in preparation (as opposed to prevention). She goes on to say that there is a need to be flexible and adaptive to change, which is often overlooked. Caroline then goes on to discuss the impact COVID-19 and how that highlighted the lack of resilience. Caroline concludes by outlining a new approach for national resilience.
