Our Women in Tech team are passionate about increasing gender diversity and inclusion within technical fields inside and outside our firm. We organise learning opportunities and create a community of support for women and non-binary individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in technology.

We’re extremely excited to be running our ‘Intro to Programming with Python’ and ‘Intro to Web Development’ virtual courses again this Autumn. The evening classes will run once a week for nine weeks from Tuesday 27 September until Wednesday 23 November. Each course will include a final competition event with an opportunity to share your creations with experienced professionals in technology.

Please note, these sessions are held in a BST/GTM UK time zone.

So, what’s on offer?

Introduction to Programming with Python

An opportunity to learn the basics of a versatile programming language. By the end of the course, you’ll have designed your own text-based game, which you’ll present to PA and industry experts. There is weekly homework and the course ends with participants developing a final project.

Audience: open to all women and non-binary individuals aged 18 and over with little to no coding experience, who want to improve their careers with coding skills

When: from 18:00 until 20:00 (BST/GMT) taking place weekly from Tuesday 27 September until Tuesday 22 November

Where: classes are virtual and will use a range of tools including Slack.

Introduction to Web Development

An introduction to web development covering UX, HTML, and CSS taught virtually by industry experts, where participants develop their own website. There is weekly homework and the course ends with participants developing their own website and presenting it to PA and industry experts at our final event.

Audience: open to all women and non-binary individuals aged 18 and over with little to no coding experience, who want to improve their careers with coding skills

When: from 17:30 until 19:30 (BST/GMT) taking place weekly from Wednesday 28 September to Wednesday 23 November

Where: classes are virtual and will use a range of tools including Slack.

How to apply

Applications for both courses are open until midnight on Friday 9 September 2022. You can only apply to one course at a time. Unfortunately, our courses are always oversubscribed, which means we can’t accept all applicants. If your application has been successful, you will be expected to complete the full nine-week course.

We’ll contact you by Friday 16 September to inform you if your application has been successful or not, with classes starting week commencing 26 September.
