Recognizing North American utilities that provide outstanding reliability

ReliabilityOne™ is a community for electric utilities, focused on providing best practice and recognition for industry leaders in reliability.

For almost 20 years, we have been focused on recognizing leading electric utilities in the United States in reliability performance. The program was started with the mission to recognize industry excellence in providing reliable service to customers. It’s since matured to not only identify top performers but also identify industry best practices that promote innovation and technology advancements.

Widely recognized as one of the electric utility industry's most prestigious honors, PA Consulting's ReliabilityOne™ awards recognize electric utilities for providing customers with the highest levels of reliability in the industry. Participants in the program leverage the recognition in communications across numerous stakeholders; customers, employees, shareholders, community and government agencies and regulators.

The ReliabilityOne™ Award Ceremony is an opportunity for award recipients and guests to celebrate the recognition of being the best in the industry, the efforts of your people and the value you bring to your customers.

Performance improvement

Our rigorous evaluation as part of the ReliabilityOne™ program, provides utility leaders with an assessment on planning, logistics, and various touch points. Based on our experience in over 200 valuations, with experts focused on reliability and resilience practices, you get insights into:

Data: Validating outage data to provide in-depth insight to data integrity and integration with business strategy.

Operations: Exploring restoration practices to seek out opportunities to better integrate people, process and innovative technologies.

Customer Experience: Assessing the customer perspective and processes as represented in all business functions related to reliability and restoration.

Technology & Innovation: Assessment of grid and customer technologies against business case, benefits realized that offer innovative solutions.

This isn’t a benchmarking exercise, the evaluation approach is designed to provide a comparison of performance across utilities but with flexibility to delve deeper into programs you are undertaking, tailoring the valuation to your needs and unique situation. A quantitative score is assigned to each utility in the four areas above. A utility’s scores in each area, associated narrative and other qualitative insights are then provided with a feedback session documenting strengths and areas of potential improvement.

Be part of the community of leaders

To be a program participant is to be a part of a community of electric utilities committed to achieving outstanding levels of reliability. By design, the community includes utilities operating in different geographies and climates, each with their own unique challenges. It is also a community with much in common, sharing strategies and moving together to advance the cause of reliability.

Program members collaborate and communicate throughout the year, but the focal point of peer-to-peer exchange of ideas is the invitation-only reliability innovation workshop that provides an open and candid environment for sharing. Request an invitation to the event.

Here, program participants can discuss successes and challenges, and various ways to further push performance boundaries. Utilities present their own programs, drawing on the knowledge and experience of those in the room for the benefit of all.
