Creating smart gas detectors for industrial and commercial environments

We collaborated with Honeywell SPS Experience Design to create two new entry-level multi-purpose gas detectors for use in industrial and commercial environments.
The project objective was to create a unique, smart, low-cost gas detector in two distinct forms: XRL, which needed to meet the demanding safety and technical standards of industrial environments, and XCL, designed to complement the aesthetic and architectural qualities of commercial interiors.
Optimising efficiency
Through the inclusion of smart connectivity, the XRL and XCL are an integrated part of a facility management ecosystem rather than just standalone devices.
The Bluetooth connectivity to a Smartphone App paves the way for new efficiencies in installation, commissioning and maintaining.

Our work across the industrial design, mechanical engineering, user interface, and packaging design brought a holistic approach to problem solving and delivering efficiency.
