Formed by a series of mergers, engineering company MAN Diesel was a cluster of companies with individual business models, processes and IT Systems. Each of th four main contry locations defined its own data structure and governance principles, so the business lacked a precise global overview of customers, spare parts, suppliers and employees.
MAN Diesel asked PA to help move the company towards global data governance, processes and structures. PA designed and implemented a cost-effective master governance model and data management processes to give the business acces to standardised data across all its locations. This process was lead by a global master data manager, whose role PA helped develop and design. PA also engaged key decisions makers and business champions in the change management process, ensuring commitment for the new approach.
Today, the global overview of customer and supplier activities means time and money are no longer being wasted in constantly aligning and matching data across boarders, and data cleaning for the spare parts and of the business well underway.
