'Making 3G Happen' at the 3GSM World Congress
-
03 January 2003
PA will give practical demonstrations on their stand and three conference presentations at the 3GSM World Congress, 17-21 February 2003, Cannes, France.
‘3G will happen - but not as originally envisaged’ according to PA Consulting Group, the leading international management, systems and technology consultancy. PA sees real opportunities to create value and growth, which exploit the 2G>2.5G>3G rollout evolution.
This, they believe, can be achieved in three ways:- by maximising operators’ 2.5G investment to provide advanced services and increase operational efficiencies; by infrastructure suppliers adopting a more flexible network approach, for example using micro-cells; and by educating businesses to use current and emerging technologies more effectively.
This year, the demonstrations on the PA stand – number G57 in Hall 2 – showcase PA’s proprietary thinking, including:
- Practical applications of mobile data services: how to integrate mobile data applications into the corporate world that bring results and return on investment;
- PA’s world-leading all-software base band for W-CDMA 3G base stations, making them cheaper, more flexible and giving improved performance over conventional solutions.
Three PA experts will also be addressing key issues on the Congress conference platform:
- Dr Alan Carr on the development of PA’s all-software base station solution, 17 February, at 16.25;
- Bjørn Krylander, CEO, UbiNetics, (a PA venture company) on understanding the details which will make 3G work, 18 February, at 11.55;
- David Prichard on the business challenge and real life issues of introducing mobile data into an organization, 21 February, at 10.25.
PA is the leading supplier of end-to-end 3G solutions, both to the mobile telecoms industry and to enterprises worldwide, helping to make 3G happen. PA’s technology-led consultancy solutions for 3G operators range from strategy planning and services creation through network and IT architecture design, WLAN construction and roll-out management.
