PA Consulting appointed to deliver the Accelerated Capability Environment (ACE)

PA Consulting has been appointed, alongside Plexal, as the delivery partner for the Accelerated Capability Environment (ACE), marking an important new phase in the evolution of the programme. The partnership came into effect on 1 April 2026 and builds on ACE’s strong foundations to support the delivery of mission‑driven innovation across government.
ACE provides a trusted, collaborative environment that allows government, industry and academia to work side by side. By enabling rapid problem solving and applied innovation, ACE helps the system keep pace with the speed of change in the world around us.
Rapid technological change is reshaping the public safety and security landscape. Threats are evolving at speed as criminals, hostile actors and organised networks adopt new tools and methods. At the same time, powerful new technologies are creating opportunities to identify risk earlier, respond faster and protect the public more effectively.
Responding to these challenges requires collaboration at scale. Government cannot act in isolation; scientific, technical and operational expertise from across the UK must be brought together so that insight can be shared at pace and promising ideas can be translated quickly into practical solutions. This is why ACE’s role is more critical than ever.
PA Consulting and Plexal will work with the Home Office to strengthen ACE’s ability to identify shared challenges across government and connect them to the best available capability. This will draw on deep technical consulting expertise, access to emerging technologies and a multidisciplinary team working alongside officials to deliver rapid, cost‑effective outcomes for the public good.
ACE will continue to support departments, agencies, policing and wider public services by responding to inbound requests, while also identifying areas where common needs can be addressed at pace.
