Andreas Floth from PA Consulting Group, the leading international management, systems and technology consultancy, will discuss ‘nearshore’ outsourcing in Eastern Europe at The European Outsourcing Summit, Paris, 29 June 2004 at 3pm.
IT service businesses in Eastern Europe hope that EU accession will boost their cross-border trade, in particular with Germany. However, Indian and Asian service providers have found it harder to make headway in northern and central Europe for cultural as much as technical reasons. (Far fewer Indian graduates speak German than English, and there is less experience of the culture and business of mainland Europe.)
In his presentation, Floth will explore the current trends in Central and Eastern Europe, the effects of accession and the current benefits and risks of ‘nearshoring’ compared to ‘offshoring’.

However, service providers must improve significantly to meet expectations.”
