A leading energy utility company asked PA to review its HR function’s performance, cost and services, as a basis for developing a series of options for the future of HR services delivery. The project included an assessment of which activities to outsource, comparing in-house and outsourced options and investigating whether outsourcing to one large provider or to several niche providers would be preferable.
PA assessed the cost/benefit profile of in-house and outsourced models, the technology and service assumptions underpinning these options, and the issues and key risks, based on the company’s future business strategy. A recommendation to outsource a defined package of HR services was made and PA provided independent advice throughout the procurement process. A 7+ year contract was awarded 12 months later covering workforce administration, payroll, employee services, reward management, performance management and succession planning.
