MEDIA RELEASE

PA Consulting's Innovation in Care Technology recognised in a national award

PA Consulting’s work in partnership with Hampshire County Council was recognised at the 2022 LGC Awards on Wednesday 20 July.

The Well-being Automated Call Service (WACS) was awarded ‘Highly Commended’ in the Innovation Category, following a rigorous judging process. This award follows the team winning the Innovation category at the TSA ITEC Awards in March.

With the use of tried and tested AWS Connect technology, WACS supported over 50,000 people in Hampshire who were shielding during the pandemic. It ensured that 4,000 individuals were able to access essential food and medical supplies whilst they remained at home. This was done by making over 200,000 automated calls and assessing responses to allow Hampshire County Council officers to prioritise and respond as required. The entire initiative was developed and launched within seven days.

In conjunction with Hampshire County Council and members of the community, a solution to assist the Council with its annual statutory care package review process has now been co-designed and is currently being tested in order to be launched later this year.

David Rees, head of local government services at PA Consulting said: “PA is thrilled to have once again been recognised for the critical work being done to assist Hampshire County Council. We’re really excited to continue working alongside local authority partners to develop the solution for other uses.”

PA’s Argenti care partnerships maximise care technology for service users and since 2013, working with five local authorities, it has provided innovate care technology to over 35,000 people and delivered more than £20 million net savings. By increasing independence and reducing reliance on others, we help people live the lives they want to lead. We combine technology, innovation and strategies to transform how we support people, assessing each individually to find the most effective telecare system for them.
