PA Consulting (PA), the global innovation and transformation consultancy that’s bringing ingenuity to life, announces one of its energy experts, Connor Deehan, has been appointed Chair of the Decommissioning and Existing Generation Group (DEGG) of the Nuclear Industry Association (NIA).
Connor, a business transformation and nuclear engineering expert, was elected by the members of the NIA to lead the Group which focuses on the key developments across the sector and acts as a forum to share best practice, understand the strategic work programmes in the UK and abroad, as well as providing an opportunity for organisations to engage with the supply chain.
Connor commented: “This is a critical time for the nuclear industry, but specifically the DEGG, as I believe it provides a vehicle for economic recovery and therefore opportunities for school leavers and new talent, the supply chain, site licence holders and ultimately, UK Plc.”
“This group has a key role to play in achieving the industry’s ambitious Nuclear Sector Deal objectives defined through the Industrial Strategy, and I’m delighted to be working with industry to make a demonstrable impact on how we do this.”
Julianne Antrobus, Head of Nuclear at PA Consulting, added:
"We can collectively influence the future role of Nuclear in supporting a net-zero future. This needs to be achieved with a very keen eye on addressing the legacies of the past through supply chain innovation to support accelerated decommissioning. I am confident Connor’s approach for the working group addresses this balance effectively.”
The opportunity's never been greater for leaders of organisations large and small to create a positive human future
