PA Consulting Group to sponsor World and UK National RS Feva sailing championships

19 January 2015

PA Consulting Group, an employee-owned consulting, technology and innovation firm, is sponsoring the 2015 RS Feva World Championships and UK National Championships. The World Championship competition will take place in July, during the Travemunde Woche on the German Baltic coast. The UK National Championships will take place on Rutland Water (UK) in May.

The RS Feva leads the world’s development of junior double handed sailing; the event has over 200 boats and is the training ground for the high performance boats of Olympic sailing. Over 360 young sailors from over 20 countries will participate in the World Championships with over 250 sailors participating in the UK Nationals.

This sponsorship is part of PA’s initiative to encourage PA’s people to support the ambitions and achievements of young people. PA also has a partnership with Teach First, a charity which works to end inequality in education, and runs an annual Raspberry Pi Competition. This was launched to stimulate interest in programming and challenges young people to use coding skills to invent something that will help people live healthier lives.
Alan Middleton, PA Consulting Group’s chief executive officer, says: “Our sponsorship of the RS Feva UK Nationals and World Championships recognises the importance of sport and competition in the development of our leaders of the future. We are excited to be sponsoring this competition and wish all entrants good luck in their preparation.”
Bill Tucker, from RS Feva, says: “Great events need great partners and we are delighted to have PA’s support for these events. Sailing is a healthy, environmentally friendly sport. It requires maximum fitness, highly developed skills, mental stamina and agility. It also develops team working and leadership skills for an entire lifetime.”
