IPsoft and IBM best on artificial intelligence

Stockholm 31 August 2015

In the artificial intelligence market, IPsoft and IBM lead the field when it comes to the breadth of solutions they can offer, according to a comparison of providers conducted by PA Consulting Group.

PA's study looks at the scalability and functionality of the solutions offered by the ten leading suppliers of artificial intelligence (see figure below). The study shows that the IPsoft and IBM solutions are well suited to the automation of a wide range of services across many industries, while vendors such as Blue Prism and Arago offer more niche solutions with capabilities for specific segments and business processes.

“The cognitive ability – the ability of AI software to learn from previous experience and knowledge – has been a decisive factor in our assessment of providers,” says Fred Johnsen, business process automation expert.

"Current solutions enable the automation of tasks in areas such as HR, finance and customer service in the same way that robots have been part of the automation of the manufacturing industry since the 1970s,” says Fred.

“Both employment and current labour market structures are likely to be affected by the automation of business processes in the near future, with both the private and public sectors feeling the impact,” concludes Fred.
