This is Local London reported that Barnet Council has joined forces with PA Consulting. Barnet Council has since been selected as a finalist for two national awards because of the partnership with PA that helps vulnerable adults throughout the borough.
The partnership allows Barnet Council to supply Argenti care technology, such as GPS watches and Amazon Alexa designed to help the 3,700 vulnerable adults in the borough.
The piece notes that the technology uses sensors, mobile devices and alarms to keep someone safe and independent for longer. It goes on to explain that the sensors can detect falls, gas leaks, flooding from overrunning baths and sinks, reminders to take medication and alerts if a front door has been left open.
The new equipment introduced under PA’s partnership with Barnet Council is meant to improve the prospects of people in the social care system.
Robert Turnbull, a care technology specialist at PA, said: “PA is proud to be helping vulnerable people from the London Borough of Barnet to live more independent lives thanks to technology.
“We are delighted that our work has helped the borough’s social care budget go further and help more people, too.”
