An article in The Municipal Journal (MJ) has announced that Sir Merrick Cockell will join PA Consulting Group to support its work within local public services.

The article says: “Sir Merrick, who steps down as LGA chairman next month, has been a councillor since 1986 for Kensington and Chelsea RLBC, where he previously held the position of education chairman and chief whip before becoming leader of the council from 2000 until 2013.”

The article goes on to explain that Sir Merrick was chairman of London Councils 2006-10 and chairman of the Conservative Councillors' Association for four years, as well as holding a seat on the Conservative Party board and serving on the Audit Commission board.
