European auto sales motor on despite trade headwinds

PA Consulting’s research on CO2 emissions is featured in the article on the rising demand for new cars across Europe, despite the fact the automotive industry has been hit by significant fines from the EU.

The article goes on to explain that manufacturers have been hit with EU rules that set up targets to reduce the carbon emissions in the automotive industry. The article goes on to draw on PA’s recent research which highlights that the 13 biggest-selling manufacturers in Europe face combined fines of €14.5bn as they will miss the targets, with averages emissions more than a fifth higher than the target.
