Peugeot, FCA accelerate merger talks

PA Consulting's research on CO2 emissions is featured in Reuters in an article about the preliminary merger agreement between Peugeot and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA).

The article explains that the deal, worth $50 billion, could transform the global auto industry, with a projected annual cost saving of 4 billion euros, according to some sources.

These talks come as European carmakers face challenges to meet CO2 emissions targets. PA Consulting's research forecasts that FCA faces a 700 million euro fine unless it radically changes its emissions profile to sell more electric and hybrid cars.
