Dell, VMware deal would be big, but maybe not for healthcare

Jeff Sage, healthcare technology expert at PA Consulting Group, discusses VMware's potential purchase of Dell Technologies and the impact on the healthcare sector.

Jeff says: As more companies both inside and outside of healthcare move to the cloud and virtualized systems, VMware and similar companies have become essential.

He adds: "VMware has been perhaps the most valuable asset within the inventory of brands, products and platforms that Dell has acquired. Irrespective of what goes down, ultimately the VMware technology is the primary value, and it is unlikely the VMware platform is going to be compromised as a result of any transaction."
