Mark Smulian

Local Government Chronicle

16 June 2014

A news article in Local Government Chronicle has revealed that outgoing LGA chair Sir Merrick Cockell will join PA Consulting Group.

The article goes on to say that Sir Merrick has been a councillor at Kensington & Chelsea RBC since 1986 and was leader of the council from 2000 to 2013.

The article explains that Sir Merrick will join PA after next month’s LGA conference, where he will be replaced as chair by Labour’s David Sparks.

Sir Merrick says: “PA Consulting Group is at the forefront of breaking down barriers between the public and private sectors and encouraging new approaches to co-operation.

“Having been part of the ongoing transformation of local public services, I am looking forward to working with such an innovative organisation.”
