Lars Paredes, PA financial expert, is quoted in an article about CFOs that are looking for new investment opportunities.
Lars explains that companies remain cautious because the customers and the markets are difficult to identify. “The fact that several business barometers have a positive view on the future has not yet triggered an increase in investments in the Danish market. Companies are not ready to take risks; rather, they need to estimate a potential overcapacity,” says Lars.
Lars refers to PA Consulting Group’s Managing Uncertainty survey, conducted in 2011 and encourages companies to prepare for a growth scenario: “Companies should prepare to make investments when demand increases. They need to quickly and smoothly develop their organisations, so that investments can be made when the time is right.”
Lars continues: “The companies that stayed the strongest throughout the financial crisis have developed different scenarios and management systems that enable them to react fast, within weeks or months. The most successful CFOs have ensured a more flexible business strategy and avoided panicking during the tougher times.”
