Where are all the fund industry heroes?

Claire Logan, head of people and talent at PA Consulting, is quoted in Ignites Europe FT’s article on role models in the fund industry.

She says firms must work at creating role models and make the effort to get them into positions of influence but “you can't simply announce that you have appointed a new group of role models”.

“Think about putting different people in charge of new initiatives, set up a consultative group without the usual suspects, and celebrate the successes of people who are showing the behaviours you want to see,” she says.

Claire also advocates the use of “career angels”. PA research shows that there are some people who have a greater influence on people’s careers than others, she says.

“They are the ones others go to for career advice and who are willing to make time for these conversations,” Claire goes on to say.

She concludes: “Investing a little cash and training in those people could underline that they are the kind of role models the organisation wants to see.”
