How working from home affects career progression

Lex Verweij, a people and talent expert at PA Consulting, discusses presenteeism in asset management.

“Presenteeism is costly by making modern life stressful for professionals who have to balance clashing needs from partners, family and long working hours,” he says.

He goes on to say: “Working from home, or remote working, can also lead to higher productivity and lower costs for companies, particularly from an office space perspective, with savings of up to £10,000 per seat a year achievable if renting an office in the city of London for example.”

Lex concludes: “The asset management industry is “falling behind” on implementing the flexible working and agile work environments that are “critical” for hiring diverse talent.”
