People Feature: How to be resilient in the face of change

PA Consulting Group’s Jade Bennett, a people and talent expert, is quoted in an article in the FT’s Ignite Europe. Jade shares her view on how asset management professionals can learn to manage change.

Jade talks about how helping yourself can help you support others. She says: “Being aware of where you’re resilient and where you’re vulnerable means you’re more likely to spot how others are feeling too and support them.”

Jade goes on to talk about building your resilience muscle. She says that building resilience takes dedication, time and energy so that it is strong enough to use in challenging times.

Jade also goes on to talk about the importance of creating a safe place, pointing out that people thrive in an environment where they can speak up and raise suggestions, questions and concerns, and make mistakes without being punished or humiliated: “When people feel they have a voice they will be less anxious and better able to embrace change and innovation,” she says.

“And if they can be open about how they feel they’ll learn from each other and support each other,” she adds.

Jade concludes that: “A resilient workforce will emerge when there are effective leaders who set the right tone and where all individuals feel they can contribute.”
