Public sector: firms look beyond Europe as cuts take toll

Colm Reilly, head of PA Consulting Group’s government practice, is quoted in the Financial Times Business of Consulting special report.  Colm gives his view on the UK public sector’s use of consultants and whether this will rise. 

Commenting on the new framework and emarketplace and the impact these will have on the shape of the consulting industry in the UK, Colm says: “It will also force consulting firms to decide whether or not they’re in public sector consulting or not.”

Colm concludes: “Those that choose to stay in this market will also have to give some thought to how they resource government work, whether they’ll have big internal teams or choose to work with other, more specialised firms and build solutions as they are needed.”
