PA’s Ted Bissell, mobile business expert, is quoted in the Financial Times The Connected Business Special report on cyber security. Ted gives his view on the growing numbers of employees using personal devices for work applications and talks about the security challenges this creates for IT departments.

Ted points out that much of the appeal of using a personal device is because some apps provide a powerful service that IT staff would struggle to deliver. However, employees often fail to stop and think about the security implications, Ted says: “But when [the IT staff] point out security risks, the message falls on deaf ears, because people feel so passionate about their mobile devices.”
