Legal fears holding back some initiatives

Geoff Nairn’s article in the Financial Times Digital Digest report looks at how organisations handle and action the data they source from business intelligence.  PA Consulting Group business intelligence expert Andy Vernon added to the debate.

The article looks at the impact of changes in legislation, in the UK the Data Protection Act, and how, as the amount and variety of sources of information have grown, so too have regulations.  Andy commented: “What has changed recently is that there have been a number of high-profile data losses. The penalties for not getting it right have become much more stringent”
