Business braced for a year of struggle

Richard Milne
Financial Times
4 January 2010

Alan Middleton, Chief Executive Officer at PA Consulting Group, is quoted in the Financial Times on the outlook for the world economy.

In the article business leaders warn that, although profitability had held up well in 2009 because of restructuring and cost-cutting the outlook for 2010 remained uncertain.

Alan commented that the world economy was "characterised by the walking of zombies", organisations that were crippled by debt.

"I think that 2010 to some extent will be a continuation of 2009. It's not going to be an easy year by any stretch of the imagination," he said.
