Siemens to fund 3D printing facility in West Midlands

PA Consulting Group's Tim Lawrence, head of manufacturing, is quoted in an article in the Financial Times on a major investment from Siemens in a state of the art 3D printing facility in the UK. The article highlights that this will be one of Europe’s largest 3D printing factories and that the technology is billed as key for the future of British manufacturing.

Tim comments that it would be a while until 3D printing “take[s] off”.

He adds: “But it will be an important technology, particularly in low-volume industrial products and for the aerospace sector in the next 10 years.”
