Nick says: “Increased data sharing is enabling better care delivery and coordination across the care continuum. This is driven by trusted exchange framework for interoperability from ONC, HL7, FIHR. Patient generated data is increasing, and often used in driving wellness and rewards programs."

He adds: “Challenges in data governance and the need for big data analytics is increasing. There will be no letup on cybersecurity. We are seeing continuing threats for patient data, ransomware and increased security focus not only on patient records, but medical devices. AI is delivering better diagnosis, supporting doctor decisions, and increasing used in the home healthcare environment with devices such as Alexa.”
