John Skipper, a cyber security expert at PA Consulting, comments in an article by Stephen Pritchard in Corporate Financier all about security in M&A deals and making sure cyber risks are addressed in corporate finance assignments.

The author notes that sharing information is at the heart of deal-making and due diligence, with the sheer number of participants creating an opening for hackers.

John warns: “Security, among some parties to a deal, might be rudimentary. They might be experts in a particular market, but there is no reason they would be experts in cyber security.”
