The author notes that sharing information is at the heart of deal-making and due diligence, with the sheer number of participants creating an opening for hackers.

John warns: “Security, among some parties to a deal, might be rudimentary. They might be experts in a particular market, but there is no reason they would be experts in cyber security.”
