Why being more female isn’t about hiring more women

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) has mentioned PA Consulting Group’s ‘Girls Aloud’ report in an article that looks at the way innovative organisations are rethinking gender inequality.
The article highlights research by PA which confirms that organisational culture has been underestimated as a driver (or mitigation) for gender balance, and shows that the ways of working, behaviour and values of an organisation are central to women’s advancement.
The article quotes from the PA report, which says: “Our research establishes a clear relationship between organisations with strong financial performance, a higher percentage of women in executive leadership teams and a high-performance culture.”
