Regulatory compliance offers higher returns

Investor Portfolio Service

2 June 2014

A study from PA Consulting Group is profiled in Investor Portfolio Service. The study looks at the shareholder value delivered by the UK's biggest 11 banks over the past decade, focusing closely on how they managed regulation.

The article reports that, according to PA’s study, those organisations which were the best at managing regulation delivered 170% higher shareholder return over the last decade, compared with the worst of their peers.

The article reports: “there is a lot of disparity between how different banks manage regulation, according to the study, with some still spending a lot of time and energy resisting rules. However, it is those banks which deliver lower value.”
