PA Consulting Group had an article published in Effektivitet discussing cyber security in an ever-changing world. According to PA, it is no longer a question of whether companies will be exposed to cybercrime, it’s rather a matter of when it will happen.
The results from a survey by PA Consulting Group on cybersecurity reveal it is becoming increasingly complex for Danish private and public organisations to protect themselves from hackers in a time where technology creates new and constantly changing opportunities.
PA says: “The cybercrime environment is becoming increasingly well organised and resourceful, and being a hacker today is an everyday job in many countries. So due to the increased technological complexity and the professionalisation of the cybercriminal industry, traditional cybersecurity is no longer sufficient.”
To uphold a strong defence against cybercriminals, companies need to monitor employees, ensuring they comply with security policies and management must allocate dedicated resources for a focused cybersecurity defence.
“The combination of a technology-based world in constant change, a growing cybercriminal industry and an ever-changing threat environment forces companies to develop a more agile cyber defence. Cybersecurity should not be maintained by static tools but should be a compilation of agile processes that ensure continuous improvements and flexibility,” concludes PA.
