The IT revolution is on standby

2 December 2013

PA discusses the importance of IT and how it has revolutionised our lives.

PA explains that people today take IT for granted, which is a major problem: " From an economic growth perspective, there is nothing equal to how IT has revolutionised society; new online companies changed the rules and showed us how the internet was a tool to take new markets across borders […] That is why I’m puzzled by the fact that IT as a profession and IT education seem to be deprioritised."

PA questions why so few people seem to be interested in getting IT training and in inventing new ways to use technology – particularly as this has the potential to increase economic growth in Denmark, as IT is a very cheap way to create and develop a business.

"The challenges we see around welfare technology, for instance, are less about technology but to a greater extent about people. The solutions that we develop within this area can help Denmark escape from the financial crisis. Great technology is developed by people who can create a symbiosis between human needs and IT and make the most of the opportunities it entails," says PA.
