HSDPA is becoming a market reality with 74 commercial launches in 43 different countries and 130 operator commitments in 60 countries (source: GSA, November 2006); it is widely believed and expected that most - if not all - UMTS operators will upgrade to HSDPA. In most markets the addition of HSDPA to operator portfolios is not a question of whether they should, but rather when, where and how to bring it to market.
