Why did you join PA?
I joined PA just over two years ago after spending 12 months working and travelling in South America and Australia. This gave me plenty of time to take stock and think about the type of career I wanted and company to work for. I had faced enormous challenges when I worked for Raleigh International in Chile and I knew how good the ‘buzz’ felt of achieving success in difficult conditions. When I came back to London I knew that the company that I would work for would have to offer the same level of variety, challenge and mix of good people…when I found out about PA I realised that it was the obvious choice for me.
What's life like at PA?

The best part of working at PA is the people. They are genuinely good fun in both a work and a social environment. PA people are committed to deliver results to the client and we are also very supportive towards our fellow consultants. Our work-life balance is important, as is diversity, and PA works hard to make sure that our consultants have the right support to achieve a positive mix.
PA offers a network to ensure that we make the most of our career by providing support via our line management, mentoring and buddy schemes. PA’s training is also comprehensive, and there are many opportunities for development. How quickly you want to move through the organisation can be strongly influenced by you.
How has your career developed at PA?
As soon as I arrived at PA I was ‘whisked away’ to work on an exciting, major, high profile government assignment which, when implemented, will fundamentally change the way central government works. While on this programme I performed a variety of roles ranging from being involved with the shaping phase at programme start-up through to defining and planning for the implementation of the required business changes. Working on such a large cross-practice assignment meant that I was able to learn about how PA operates as a company, and the social life was fantastic!
For my next assignment there are a number of opportunities available, some of which will potentially involve working overseas. PA is very supportive of the type of work that you want to pursue and encourages its consultants to operate on a variety of assignments and clients -ensuring that we develop both our breadth and depth of knowledge and experience. With such opportunities it’s easy to understand why I enjoy PA and I’m sure I’ll have a long, challenging and successful career here.
