Semantic Web
What is it?
The Semantic Web is World Wide Web creator Sir Tim Berners-Lee’s vision for the next major step in the evolution of the Internet. The Semantic Web will be enabled by the addition of definition tags on information in Web pages, linked in such a way that computers can discover data more efficiently and form new associations between pieces of information. In effect, the Semantic Web represents the transformation of the Web into a globally distributed database where information is linked by machine-translatable meaning and context.
