Auditing and verification
The need for robust external and internal auditing and verification of environmental performance has never been greater. In the aftermath of Enron and WorldCom, Board members are demanding greater assurance that their corporate position on environmental issues is sound, that risks are identified and managed, that products carry a smaller and smaller environmental footprint, and that operations are in compliance.
PA is uniquely qualified to assist with environmental auditing. Our specialists founded the Environmental Auditing Roundtable and served on the organization's first Board of Directors.
Our experts also authored Environmental Auditing: Fundamentals and Techniques and The Environmental, Health and Safety Auditor’s Handbook. We actively participated in the development of global environmental management standards prior to ISO 14001, and provided a core member of the Global Reporting Initiative.
Our work includes a wide range of independent auditing activities that relate to the environment, as well as providing independent opinions for the London Stock Exchange and for Boards of directors. Increasingly, we are helping companies re-invent their audit programs to address the new array of risks posed by global issues such as climate change, product deselection, and water shortages.
