Transforming network operations to improve service reliability and organizational agility
A major US wireless operator needed to significantly improve network reliability and operational agility. PA Consulting Group led the executive stakeholders through a process of discovery and consensus building to launch a major performance improvement program to address emerging trends in the industry.
The functions responsible for network engineering and operations at a major US wireless operator were straining to keep pace with two emerging industry trends: service reliability had become a key competitive differentiator, and the introduction of IP-based network technologies was forcing changes to legacy operational responsibilities and processes.
PA was engaged to build the commitment and plan for change. In this Blueprint phase, PA built leadership consensus on the urgency of the situation, vision for the future, and the necessary actions to be taken. The work was focused in three areas.
