Implementing risk-based programme management
Complexity is challenging capability. Development programmes are becoming more complex than ever before: advancing technology, scientific breakthroughs, regulatory changes, globalisation, and a myriad of other factors contribute. It is a level of complexity that too often compromises the ability of an organisation to deliver the programme as planned. Our experience indicates that few programmes are running in the ‘safe zone’ where corporate capability is aligned with the complexity of the programme.
Risk-based programme management makes it possible to gain control and confidence even when you are starting from apparent chaos. Once the programme has been brought under control, it can be kept on track by continuing to manage risk proactively.
