Sustaining product success through world-class ergonomics
This paper looks at the value of ergonomics in product design, and outlines PA's capabilities.
Achieving good ergonomics is not only more difficult but also far more valuable than most people believe. Applied correctly, good ergonomics in product design can make unfamiliar objects intuitively obvious to use. This can be based on previous practical experience with comparable objects. On initial inspection and trial of a new object, users should be able to develop competence quickly and effectively.
The benefits of saving time, avoiding frustration and increasing efficiency, all enhance customer satisfaction. For the manufacturer, the benefit is that users get better results from its product than from a competitor's offering. Customers will prefer it every time and it will become the product of choice.
