Case study
Hong Kong spectrum regulator
Digital TV implementation planning
Digital terrestrial television (DTT) is an emerging technology that will eventually replace the current analogue broadcast transmission. PA conducted a Frequency Planning Study for the government regulator responsible for spectrum management in Hong Kong in order to inform policy options for introducing DTT. This included development of a coverage prediction and interference analysis model, used in conjunction with GIS to develop frequency plans. The most appropriate standard (of three possible) was chosen and an implementation schedule was proposed for the transition from analogue to digital.
