Broadband wireless system design

PA managed a fixed wireless broadband licence bid for an operator in Hong Kong. We helped the client form a strategy for entry into the highly competitive Hong Kong telecommunications market by analysing various technologies, conducting vendor selection evaluations and competitor analysis as well as developing the capital expenditure required to invest into the network. We assessed wireless technologies such as local multipoint distribution service (LMDS), infrared laser technology and point-to-point microwave technology. Based on the client's concept of being a fixed wireless broadband carrier as well as an Internet service provider, the assessment combined the wireless local loop architecture with a fully IP based packet switched network.
